Dear Sir, Madam,
I'm Eva Luijten of the organization Surplus welzijn in Breda, in the Netherlands .
The organization is a welfare organization, and it encourages people to socialize in Breda and participate actively in the society. We try to improve social relationships between people, groups and organizations. With this we want to improve the welfare of the people and the viability of the society, and we try to avoid or reduce social problems.
Our organization wants to organise an international exchange between young adults in cooperation with three or four other countries.
We would like to collaborate with your organization.
The purpose of the exchange is that you will get to know the youth work and the culture of the Netherlands.
The participants will get the awareness of their own (youth) culture and that of the other participants. We will try to increase the knowledge of each others culture and identity and reduce the prejudice towards each other. The young adults will discover the values and norms of other young adults and they learn to accept and appreciate the (cultural) differences between them.
The young adults must be in the age of 14 to 23 years old.
The exchange will endure around 8 days, including the travel days, in the week of August the 23rd.
The minimum amount of exchanging youth from your country will be 5 young adults, and the maximum will be 10. With every five young adults we expect one supervisor to come with them.
If the exchange is experienced as a success, we would like to take this one-sided exchange to a higher level and make it a mutual exchange.
In the collaboration, your influences on the activities will be as important as our own.
In this exchange we are working with the institute 'Youth in action'. This institute will partly pay the expenses of the exchange. We will also recruit funds to reduce the costs for the participating young adults and supervisors.
We would like to hear from you by Friday, February 12 th, if you are interested in this project and whether you want to receive more information. We would also like to hear from you if you are not interested.
If you have any questions you can contact me by e-mail.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Eva Luijten
